SM Corporation Video
This promo for the band SM Corporation was my first attempt at making a music video. The band were a post-punk/electropop act who recorded from 1979-1985.
Their 1984 single single 'Eyes On Fire' was recently re-issued & this video is for the b-side; 'Assault On Precinct 13', a cover version of the theme to the film of the same name by John Carpenter.
I decided the best route to take was to use various sources of archive footage & to experiment with different clips until I found something that fitted the mood of the track. Being over 28 years old & an archive item itself I thought the graininess of the footage only helped to add to the feeling that this was something from another time. I later added dialouge & although taken from another source I matched it up with pre-existing lip movements in the footage.
